Nephrology – Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Division of Nephrology is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to join our team.
The position will primarily have responsibilities in the outpatient nephrology service areas. The nephrology division is the largest in the state of Arizona. On average, they complete 11,000 outpatient visits per year. The nephrology physicians work closely with the Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program to support chronic kidney and end-stage renal disease patients to kidney transplant. The program also supports the only pediatric dialysis facility in the state. The Pediatric Dialysis Center offers both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. This position will collaborate directly with the patients, families, nephrologists as well as dieticians, social workers, nurses and other dedicated support staff. The position will encompass care of patients with a broad range of diagnoses, including hypertension, kidney stones, and nephrotic syndrome. There is an opportunity to support multidisciplinary clinics, providing collaborative care with over 10 other specialties within the Phoenix Children’s Health System.
General responsibilities include:
Outpatient Clinic Visits
See nephrology patients in the outpatient clinic
Manage care and coverage for family questions between clinic visits.
Medication reconciliation and prescription management
Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, examples may include:
Phoenix Children’s Kidney Stone Clinic, working with pediatric urology
Phoenix Children’s Hypertension Clinic, working with pediatric endocrinology
The position is M-F, day shift; there will be call requirements, and duties could expand to a satellite clinic in the future, depending on need.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner licensure in Arizona or ability to obtain prior to start date
At least one (1) year of NP experience in pediatrics, nephrology or dialysis is preferred
