This is a full-time position in the San Diego area and offers a wonderful combination of outpatient, inpatient, and surgical responsibilities. Ideal candidates will have a background in surgical oncology, oncology, or women's health.
Essential Functions: See post operative patients in the office, cancer surveillance visits and help manage chemotherapy schedules. First assisting in the operating room as well as post operative care and inpatient rounding. Participate in patient education specific to chemotherapy, post op care, and routine follow up visits in outpatient setting. Perform colposcopy and gynecologic biopsies (training will be provided if necessary)
Basic Qualifications: Experience: Graduation from an accredited PA program. Bachelor's degree required. Enrollment in PECOS required. License, Certification, Registration State licensure valid in California. DEA license required. Board certification from NCCPA. Current BLS certification is required from the American Heart Association. National Provider Identification (NPI) required.
Additional Requirements: The practitioner will be assigned to a specific location every day. Routine assignments include inpatient surgical setting (core hospitals) and office.
Current or recent surgical assisting experience highly preferred.
Experience assisting with robotic surgery is preferred.
Experience in hospital/OR/Ambulatory Surgical Centers preferred.
Current or recent experience assisting with General Surgery/surgical oncology/GYN/Urology pre-post op procedures preferred.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills highly preferred.
